Read MoreOur award-winning Magic 360 mid-wheel drive became available in the USA and Canada late last year. We thought we would take this opportunity to outline why it has already become one of Australia’s favourite go anywhere, indoor-outdoor powerchairs.
Named the UK Retailers’ Choice Product of The Year in the Dec 2022 edition of THIIS magazine, the Magic 360 lays claim to be the world’s most versatile powerchair. Its versatility is due to its ability to be fitted with three wheel choices: a narrow Urban, a mid-sized Crossover or knobby Off-roaders. The Magic 360 delivers an impressive combination of narrow base width, extended battery range, kerb-climbing power, great stability, excellent suspension, and sleek good looks.
Karen and Natalie are long-term powerchair users who upgraded more than a year ago from Magic Mobility’s previously smallest mid-wheel drive – the Frontier V6 Compact – to become Urban-tyred Magic 360 users. Usually spending all day in their chairs at home, at work, or out and about enjoying their busy social lives, Nat agreed with us that “it’s good to let the public know how good this chair is!” And just how good is that?
When fitted with knobby, low-pressure off-road tyres, Magic 360’s 39” long by 26” wide wheelbase makes it an incredibly compact, truly off-road capable powerchair. And at only 24” wide, the Magic 360 with Urban tyres is amongst the most manoeuvrable powerchairs available. As Karen explained “It turns on a dime. I have no worries about getting into tight spaces where you need to turn really sharply.”
In fact, “no worries” is a favourite Australian expression that that nicely sums up why Karen and Nat are so happy with their Magic 360’s. As Karen explained:
And, thanks to the design engineers at Magic Mobility, the Magic 360’s driver position and low centre of gravity makes it feel very responsive and minimises head movement around the turning point. As Karen explained “The weight is central to your body. That’s why the turning of the 360 is a little bit sharper, because (the chair’s weight sits) right under your butt!”
We asked Karen how being in her Magic 360 makes her feel. “It makes me feel more independent. It gives me quality of life,” she replied. Illustrating the type of life-enhancing experience enabled by a reliable, go-anywhere powerchair Karen recounted: “We drove from Clayton to Bentleigh in our wheelchairs [over 8 kms]. It took us an hour, but we got there. It was a really nice day and I asked my friend, “Are you up for this challenge?” and we were still running around Bentleigh all afternoon, too!”
Having confidence in her chair means that Karen could forget about being in a powerchair, and just enjoy a beautiful day out on the way to a fulfilling social experience.
